Is Wake Forest University considered a prestigious school?

I am hearing more and more about friends of friends going off to Wake Forrest. I think the only thing I have heard about regarding Wake was Tim Duncan. Other than that I would some info on it.
What is the overall opinion of the school? Is it a prestigious institution?

Yes — it is an excellent school. US News ranks it #30 in the country.

Wake Forest Vs. Navy, Part Deux

So the inaugural edition of the EagleBank Bowl is set to kick off on December 20, 2008 at 11 a.m., but while almost everything about the bowl is new, one thing won’t be: the matchup.

 

RFK Stadium, with a capacity of about 50,000 will host the first ever EagleBank Bowl and it’s featured battle between the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the Navy Midshipmen.

 

But this game will be the second match of the season between the two teams, with the first going to Navy in an upset on the Deacons home field in Winston-Salem, NC. At that time, Wake was undefeated and making a promising run towards another ACC title, but the Navy team got a rare win over a ranked opponent to walk out with the win.

 

Fans of  the Demon Deacs who are grabbing up Wake Forest EagleBank Bowl tickets are hoping that the team is itching for revenge, and that the previous game wasn’t definitive proof that Navy is just better than Wake.

 

The game has some controversy already, since Maryland would like to have played in the game, and is closer to RFK, but due to an exam schedule will be traveling to the Blue Turf of the Humanitarian Bowl in Boise, ID. Despite the bowl’s no-rematch agreement with Navy, the coices were limited and Wake Forest got the invite.

 

So will Wake be able to take back bragging rights from Navy?

 

Navy stunned Wake Forest in their first match up by taking a 17-0 lead, which left Wake trying to play catch up the rest of the game, something that Wake Forest isn’t really built to do. Navy scored behind a running attack that smashed Wake Forest for 292 yards, and the Demon Deacons must do a far better job stopping the rushing attack of the midshipmen.

 

As Wake Forest fans buy their Wake Forest EagleBank Bowl tickets, they’ll be looking to see if the Deacons can exert their will, control the game and get their payback.

Your grades and test scores (assuming this is an unweighted GPA), yes. With regard to the clubs and sports, it would depend on what you did. Going to a meeting, or playing for one season wouldn’t be enough, but if you were deeply involved, then yes. Of course, your essay and recommendations will matter too.
